VP SMART is a free mobile solution for public safety organizations for vehicle and foot patrol officers, as well as executive overview, that allows for the consumption of the organizations existing CAD interface data. The application after being downloaded can be used by anyone who has been give the url string to connect to the appropriate web services as well as the appropriate customized pass phrase. The application provides the users with spatial awareness of active incidents going on within an organization as well as making them spatially aware of other user s locations that have also been granted access by the organizations. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
